Jim Warren -
Producer / Engineer
Jim
Warren's work with Radiohead extends to being road crew, recording you never
wash up after yourself (my iron lung ep, 1994), mixing permanent daylight
(my iron lung ep, 1994). He is the mixer and producer of 'high & dry' (the
bends, 1995), and mixer on 'the bends' (1995). He engineered all the demos
for the album "The Bends". He continues to work extensively with Radiohead
and provide their live shows with the sound that band and fans alike have
come to expect.
Jim Warren also does Peter Gabriel's live
sound and has produced and engineered albums by Jocasta and Pineforest
Crunch. Jim has produced the second Unbelievable Truth album and has also
been working with new act Darling, Gintare and Wock. Jim Warren's projects
at Keynote including recording and producing local band Whispering Knees.
Adam
Whittaker - Producer / Engineer

Adam Whittaker
is a British record producer and guitarist who has engineered, mixed,
produced and played on albums by such bands as Doves, Julian Cope, The
Damned, The Xcerts, The Saw Doctors, The Rakes, Dogs Die In Hot Cars, Hot
Club de Paris, Starsailor, Amy Winehouse, Pure Reason Revolution and Mark
Ronson.
He has on
occasion used the pseudonym "Randy Apostle" for his work with Julian Cope,
Black Sheep and Roger, the latter featuring tracks in 2008 Pathe comedy
horror film The Cottage.
Amit Bajaj -
Studio Engineer / Producer / Remix Artist

Amit Bajaj aka
Mentor is an
internationally acclaimed music producer and audio engineer. With more than
15 years experience in the industry, Amit has established himself as one of the most credible and pioneering names in Urban
and Asian music around the world.
Born in Kenya, Mentor grew up in West London and produced a number of tracks with Super-Producer Rishi Rich
on the huge selling Asian remix series Pure Garage I, II and III. In 2002,
he moved to Tanzania, East Africa and set up Poa Records, an independent
label which promoted Swahili Hip Hop and R&B. The label signed artists
including T.I.D, Zig Zag Kru, Complex (R.I.P) and Big Dogg Posse, as well as
working with top East African artists like Lady JD, Mr Nice, Ray C, Suma G,
AY and Majizee. Mentor went on to be Nominated Best Producer at the
Tanzanian Music Awards 2003, Poa Records artist T.I.D. won Best Artist
Category and his album "Sauti Ya Dhahabu" (Produced by Mentor) won Best
Album.
In June 2003, Mentor returned to the UK to set up his recording studio in
London and has since acquired production, remixing and engineering credits
for the likes of Timbaland and Magoo ft Missy Elliot, Craig David, Nitin
Sawhney, Jon B, Rishi Rich, Jay Sean, Juggy D and many more. Mentor has also
scored TV ad's for McDonalds and Sharwoods, plus title music for TV programs
including Nickelodeon's "Control Freaks".
Apart from music production, Mentor Beats has been involved in Training
Courses and Workshops in Music Production for various organisations
including Point Blank, London School of Sound, BBC Blast and Fitzrovia Youth
In Action.
Fraser Smith

Fraser started
out in the music industry over 10 years ago. He was a member of top 40 band
Shed Seven and toured extensively, as well as many TV, Radio and festival
appearances including
Top Of The
Pops, TFI Friday, The Jo Whiley Show, Pepsi Chart Show, The Big Breakfast
etc.
Fraser has produced and / or mixed records for The Yards, Sketches, Little
Man Tate, Dog Almighty, Ian Brown, Winterkids, Ali Whitton, Crane Brothers,
Pinstripe, Hayley Hutchinson, Shed Seven, The Needles, and loads more.
He has over 10 years experience in professional studios
producing singles / albums. Clients include EMI, Polydor, V2, Universal,
Taste Media, Gut Records, Hed Kandi, A & G. Fraser has advanced working
knowledge of analogue and digital recording / production techniques and
equipment and is an astounding engineer.
Dave Chang - Studio Engineer / Producer

Dave Chang is a
producer/engineer with over 20 years experience working predominantly with
rock, metal, punk and ska bands. Dave is easy to work with professionally
managing recording projects, providing artistic, arrangement, performance
and technical advice resulting in a low stress creative environment. He has
worked at studios from project facilities through to Abbey Road.
After running a mobile recording service (which included recording
performances at the Marquee club in London) Dave originally established 'The
Canning Factory' studios. Most notably recorded Alex Newport's Fudge Tunnel
prior to signing with Earache Records. Dave also engineered for John
'Rabbit' Bundrick (keyboards for The Who, Roger Waters, Bob Marley and many
more).
Dave moved on to be house engineer at Square Centre Studios, Nottingham - a
large commercial analogue recording facility. Here he worked with a wide
range of artists and musical styles including soul, funk, pop, rock,
Salvation Army Brass Band and The Nottingham School of Samba. He also had
the opportunity to work with great producers like Pete Jones, Steve Lovell,
Andy Sneap, Colin Richardson, Nick Robins, Roger Lyons, Robin Taylor-Firth,
Mark Tolle, Phil Chevron and John Crossley.
Soon there was sufficient demand that Dave went freelance as an independent
producer. His productions are widely praised in the music press, and is
proud to have produced one of Kerrang's top 100 'Best British Rock Albums of
All Time'.
Some of his past clients production include Stampin' Ground, Johnny Truant,
Linear 77, Capdown, Panic Cell, Charger, Six.Point.Five, Knuckledust,
Earthtone9, Orange Goblin and engineered Liberty 37 and Olive.
Noel Newton - Proprietor
Keynote Studios
was formed by Noel Newton back in `93. In this time he started to produce
his own music from Drum and Bass to house working with local artists like
Adam F, Laurent Garnier, Alex Reece, J Majik, Guy Simone, Matthew B, Donovan
Smith, M J Cole, LTJ Bookem, Chris Simmons to name but a few.
He has always had a love for music and started working for Record Basement
(Drum and Bass / House) in `92 where in ’93 he became the Production Manager
for records being produced, manufactured and distributed by artists from the
UK and Europe including Top Buzz, Ganja records, Roni Size, Goldie (Metalheadz)
Photek, Rat Pack. + many more all who are still established names in the
business 10 years on.
Still working on his own music he left the Record Basement in ’96 to work as
a freelance engineer at studios including Metropolis, Sarm West, Masterpiece
(mastering), Sour records, Church studios, Swanyard studios working
alongside engineers like Jim Warren (Radio head), Chris Simmons (Tim DeLuxe)
and MJ Cole (Elizabeth Troy)
Noel’s real passion was to move his studio into bigger premises and
concentrate even more on his love for music and work began in 2002 to build
Keynote Studios in Burghfield, Reading. |
